Why Should Christians Care?

Summary

The Hate Crime Act would protect people targeted by intimidation through acts of violence based on their actual or perceived identity. The bill mentions "race, color, religion, sex, national origin, physical or mental disability, age, political opinion, or the exercise of the victim's political rights and privileges" as protected classes.

Status

HB306 was introduced in the House on May 27, 2025, and referred to the House Judiciary Committee on May 28, 2025.
