DEVOTED For Ministry Leaders

Christian leaders are navigating tricky dynamics in the pastoral care of LGBTQ+ youth and adults. They often feel conflicted by personal beliefs, expectations from beloved congregation members, and guidance from denominational leadership and fellow clergy. Many pastors, young adult ministers, elders, and volunteer leaders question how to provide effective pastoral care to the LGBTQ+ people in their community. Join us for a seminar that will equip you to take practical steps towards loving the LGBTQ+ people in your community with a new boldness, while avoiding common pitfalls that erode relationships, harm faith communities, and damage those who identify as LGBTQ+. Come experience how God works in us when we step out of our comfort zones, break free from our echo chambers, and step into the tension that comes with tough conversations.

Virtual Pride Wall

In years past, LOVEboldly has set up Graffiti Walls at Pride parades for LGBTQ+ people to share their stories of hurt, rejection, love & acceptance from the church & their families. These walls have served as reminders to other LGBTQ+ that they are not alone in their experiences & as examples to non-LGBTQ+ people of the joy, pain & hope that LGBTQ+ people experience. Though we can't have our typical Pride walls this year, we wanted to create a way for you to share your experiences with others as a way to encourage and inspire compassion.

Faith in Families

Has your child told you they’re gay or transgender? Not sure how to handle the news? Worried about what this means for your child and family?

Faith in Families is a four hour program offered by Lighthouse Youth and Family Services, in partnership with LOVEboldly. The program is designed for parents and other adult caregivers to receive support and information when their child comes out as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender. The program offers an opportunity to address worries and concerns and have questions answered by professional staff. Family members can expect a confidential and respectful experience. All families, regardless of belief or background, are welcome. The program is free and lunch is provided. Lunch includes a special presentation and panel discussion for families with religious questions facilitated by LOVEboldly.
