Rev. Dr. Ben Huelskamp

Rev. Dr. Ben Huelskamp (he/they) is the Executive Director of LOVEboldly. He is an openly Queer Christian, pastor, public theologian, author, activist, and a lifelong church geek. They earned a BA in philosophy, a MEd in higher education and student affairs, and an EdD in leadership with a focus on religion and ministry. He wrote his dissertation on the leadership of LGBTQIA+ people in the church. Ben is currently studying for the Master of Theological Studies (MTS) with a concentration in Biblical Studies at the Methodist Theological School in Ohio (MTSO). They are a voracious reader, avid Star Trek nerd, and an alumnus member of Phi Mu Delta fraternity. If he ever got a tattoo, it would be of the Oxford Comma.

In his "free time," Ben serves as the pastor of Blue Ocean Faith Columbus, a small affirming congregation and enjoys spending time with friends and family, particularly his nephew, Jack. He serves of the board of The Buckeye Flame and on the steering committee of the Columbus and Central Ohio LGBTQ+ Leadership Roundtable.
